“We offer all-hours emergency services even for difficult situations and comprehensive heat pump service on all makes and models,” Thomson said. “I have extensive knowledge on Mitsubishi and Daikin heat pumps and VRF service that puts me ahead of my competitors. Customers usually must work with larger mechanical contractors to find someone with my level of expertise.”

Coastal Climate Controls can deliver exceptional maintenance, service and installations for fuel oil-fired systems, propane or natural gas-fired systems, and heat pumps, ductless or ducted. They perform commercial VRF service and installations, electrical upgrades to heating or cooling equipment circuits, plumbing rough-ins and finishes, server rooms, commercial rooftop units and propane tank connections.

Quarterly, bi-annual or annual maintenance programs are available for customers and Coastal Climate Controls is on duty 24 hours a day for your emergency situations and they also service equipment that wasn’t originally installed by them. “I always try to give customers that best service that fits their needs,” Thomson said. “I'm not afraid to take the extra time to make any service or installation work to look and work better overall. I have a heavy background in controls, heat pumps, make-up air units, process cooling, hydronics and heating systems.”

In business as Coastal Climate Controls since 2018, Thomson first got his start working for Haley's Metal Shop in Biddeford as an apprentice. He then worked his way up to Master Oil Technician, Propane and Natural Gas Service Technician and Installer. Later, he added endorsements for large gas-fired equipment, tank setting and underground gas piping and recently he obtained a plumbing license. He’s also able to perform some heating work in New Hampshire.

“I've been a professor at Southern Maine Community College for the last six years in the HVAC & Plumbing Department,” Thomson said. “I used to be timid about teaching but over the past few years I've enjoyed watching the students grow through their learning experiences within the various programs. I don't mind taking extra time with my students or my customers to teach and explain how their systems work. I believe having both educational and technical backgrounds have helped propel my business forward these past years.”
